| Says Tony:
'I originally built this guitar for myself. Anyone who knows
me will tell you that Francis Rossi is my idol. I honestly
believe he is one of the worlds most under-rated guitarists
and song writers. Having made endless replicas of the
guitars he uses in Quo, I wanted to make a special guitar, a
kind of tribute to the great man. This guitar is not a
replica, but is intended as that tribute using his main
green guitar as the theme. Since making this guitar it has
remained in its case un-played, and that is definitely not
what I intended for this special instrument. So its up for
sale, and I hope it goes to a good home. Hopefully to
someone who shares my opinion of the man who fronts the
greatest rock boogie band there has ever been.' |

| Tony's Francis
Rossi "Tribute" Guitar in all its glory!
£1,099 |
| |
|
|
| As with all Tony Rockett Custom
guitars the Francis Rossi "Tribute" is entirely hand made by
Tony using the highest quality woods and guitar parts. The
pictures below show the guitar is detail. All Tony Rockett
Custom guitars come with a hard case. |
 |
 |
 |
| The body is alder, with a flame maple
book-matched top. |
All the hardware on Tony's Francis Rossi
Tribute guitar is in a gold finish, including the neck
plate, jack cup and string ferrules. |
The neck is a single piece of flame maple. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
| Although this is a single piece
maple neck, there is no plug on the headstock. Tony was able
to do this by using a double-bar flat truss rod. The neck
inlays (dots or position markers) are made using green
abalone. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
|
The control knobs are also in a gold finish with green
abalone tops. |
Tony has used GFS vintage 'Tele'
pickups, and the ash tray style bridge is fitted with
individual saddles for perfect intonation. |
The machine heads are a set of gold finish 'Sperzels'. |
|
To quote Tony: 'I would like to think that Francis would approve of his
Tony Rockett Custom "Tribute"
guitar!' |
